SpeQtral at Global Space and Technology Convention 2020

SpeQtral will attend this year's Global Space and Technology Convention (GSTC) at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Singapore.

On Wednesday, the 05. January 2020, GSTC is hosting pre-GSTC-workshops. One of them is organised by SpeQtral, in collaboration with the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) under the title "Satellite QKD - The Future of Secure Communications".

For the 3-hour session, a total of five speakers are offering their expertise in the field before answering questions from the audience in a panel discussion. 

Cyber-security is set to be challenged by the advent of quantum computing necessitating updated encryption methods to be implemented now rather than later. Satellite Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is a method of delivering secure encryption keys globally. Information is encoded in the quantum properties of light such that any eavesdropping can be detected. This workshop will feature presentations and discussion from key stakeholders in the field from around the world.

 During the following two days of convention and exhibition, SpeQtral is hosting the P5 booth in collaboration with CQT. We are bringing in our experts on QKD and quantum nanosatellites to explain and answer any technical and non-technical questions. For better understanding, a model of the currently orbiting 3U CubeSat SpooQy-1 is displayed. The entanglement source payload has been built locally at CQT in Singapore.
