Accenture and SpeQtral have partnered up to help their customers understand and get ready for Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). SpeQtral bring deep expertise in Quantum Key Distribution technologies and their implementation to the partnership. Accenture complements this with an understanding of the business environment for Government, Communication and Banking clients interested in developing a plan for Quantum Communication.

The paper gives an introduction into the topic of quantum secure communication networks and its necessity, if public key infrastructure is not sufficient anymore. According to expert reports mentioned, this is likely to happen within the next 15 years.

The 18-page introduction is targeted towards industry professionals outside of the emerging quantum landscape. Throughout the publication, the difference between global vs. space-based QKD is explained, as well as use cases for high security needs (e.g. military, critical infrastructure), medium (e.g. financial institutions) or regular security needs.
